Okra or known in many English-speaking countries as ladies finger is a flowering plant that gains its appreciation from its edible green seed pods. It comes packed with a lot of health benefits such as its folate content which plays a huge role in cancer prevention, helps fight against diabetes as well as maintains a good and healthy heart due to its rich fiber.

Like any healthy vegetable, ladies fingers can be prepared in numerous ways for consumption. Follow along to take look at how to cook it into a stir fry.

We will be using a good amount of ground spices to enrich the taste. With a balanced content of ingredients added this will be an exemplary side addition to your cuisine and will soon be a must-have.

The delicious vegetarian recipe that can be had as a side for your Main course Meal, rice, naan, or chapatti!

Ingredients

  • 200 gm Okra chopped

  • 1 Cup Onion Large sliced

  • 1 pc Green chili chopped

  • 1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds

  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder

  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic crushed

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 3 tbsp cooking oil

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Directions

  • Add Water 2+1/2 cup in a heating pot. Add rice 1 cup into it.
  • Cover and boil it for 5 minutes. Give stirs in between.
  • After, add pink salt 1 tsp (or according to taste), black pepper powder 1/4 tsp, and turn the flame to medium-low.
  • Stir everything and cover. Let the rice cook for 6-7 minutes. After, drain out the Can Vegetables (peas and carrot) and add them to the boiling rice.
  • Mix them well – cover and let the rice cook for 5 more minutes on low flame. Make sure to give brief stirs in between.
  • Dish out and serve the hot vegetable rice with salad, sauce, or aside.

  • Adjust salt according to your taste and diet requirement.
  • Instead of stir fry, you can also add some water to make it curry style.
  • The okra can be cut in different styles according to individual likings
