What is special about Matar kabab ?

It is a complete vegetarian kabab that has different spices and ingredients mixed to form a truly delicious snack. They are not less in taste compared to any non vegetarian kababs out there.

Can we grind all ingredients with the peas into a single mixture ?

Yes that would work as well.

Can we make the kabab in ovens ?

Yes you may, make sure to apply enough oil on both sides of the kabab and let it not go dry.

Healthy and nutritious green peas vegan cutlets with a little spicy flavour into it.

Ingredients

  • Preparing Peas
  • 3 cups Water

  • 1 cup Green peas

  • Preparing Matar Kabab
  • 1 pc Onion

  • 3 pc Green chili

  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice

  • 1/2 tsp Red chili powder

  • 1 tsp Coriander powder

  • 1 tsp Cumin powder

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder

  • 1 tbsp Semolina powder

  • 4 tbsp Rice flour

  • 2 tbsp Coriander leaves

  • Frying the Kabab
  • 2 tbsp Cooking oil

Directions

  • Preparing Peas
  • Into a heating pot, add water 3 cups, green peas 1 cup – let it boil for about 1 – 2 minutes on high heat.
  • After, switch off the heat and take out the peas into a plate.
  • Grind peas to make a course paste.
  • Transfer the peas into a separate bowl, keep aside for later use.
  • Preparing the kabab
  • Into the blended peas, add chopped green chilies 3 pcs, lemon juice 1 tbsp, red chili powder 1/2 tsp, coriander powder 1 tsp, chopped onion 1 pc, cumin powder 1 tsp, salt 1 tsp, garam masala powder 1/2 tsp, semolina powder 1 tbsp, rice flour 4 tbsp, coriander freshly chopped 2 tbsp – mix all the ingredients well.
  • Use your hand to knead the mixture well.
  • Grease your palm with cooking oil – take 2 tbsp of mixture and start making the kababs shape.
  • Frying the kabab
  • Into a heating frying pan, add cooking oil 2 tbsp – pre-heat the oil in high heat before adding the kabab.
  • Start placing kababs into heating oil – fry it for about 6-7 minutes on medium heat.
  • Flip the kabab while frying to cook all the sides well.
  • Fry them until golden brown and take out into a kitchen towel.
  • Serve it hot with sauce or chutney 🙂 Have a tasty Teatime every time !

  • You can use fresh peas or frozen peas for this recipe.
  • Avoid making a runny paste of the peas while grinding them for better results.
