Ingredients

  • Preparing Egg Fry
  • 5 pc Boiled eggs

  • 5 tbsp Cooking oil

  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder

  • 1/2 tsp Red chili powder

  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder

  • Preparing the Rice
  • 2 cups Rice

  • 5 pod Green cardamom

  • 1 pc Cinnamon stick

  • 1 tbsp Salt (or according to taste)

  • 1 pod Black cardamom

  • 1 pc Star anise

  • 1 pc Bay leaf

  • 4 pc Green chilies

  • Preparing Egg Masala
  • 4 tbsp Cooking Oil

  • 6 pc Cloves

  • 1 pc Cinnamon stick

  • 5 pod Green cardamom

  • 1 pc Star anise

  • 1 pod Black cardamom

  • 2 pc Bay leaf

  • 3 pc Onions medium

  • 2 tbsp Ginger garlic paste

  • 2 pc Tomatoes medium

  • 1 tsp Salt (or according to diet)

  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp Red chili powder

  • 1/2 tbsp Biryani masala

  • 1 tsp Coriander powder

  • 3/4 cup Curd

  • 4 tbsp Parsley

  • 4 pc Green chili whole

  • Preparing Biryani Layers
  • 2 tbsp Parsley chopped

  • 2 tbsp Fried onion

  • 1 tsp Red food color

  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice

Directions

  • Preparing Egg Fry
  • In a heating frying pan, add cooking oil 2 tbsp, add turmeric powder 1/2 tsp, red chili powder 1/2 tsp, boiled eggs 5 pc, and coat the eggs into the masala very well.
  • Fry the eggs for 5-6 minutes on high flame, then take out the fried eggs into a bowl and keep them aside.
  • Preparing the Rice
  • Take a big heating pot and add water 2 liters, star anise 1 pc, green cardamom 5 pods, cloves 6 pc, black cardamom 1 pod, cinnamon stick 2 inches, bay leaf 2 pc, soaked Basmati rice 500 gm, whole green chilies 4 pc, salt 1 tbsp and boil it for 8-10 minutes on the high flame – cook the rice only 3/4 done.
  • Then strain the rice and keep it aside for later use for the biryani layers.
  • Preparing Egg Masala
  • In a heating pot add cooking oil 4 tbsp, cloves 6 pc, cinnamon stick 2 inches, green cardamom 5 pods, star anise 1 pc, black cardamom 2 pods, bay leaf 2 pc, sliced onion 3 medium – fry on high flame till the onions turn light brown.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste 2 tbsp and stir well.
  • Add diced tomatoes 2 large, then cover with a lid and cook for 5-6 minutes on medium-high heat.
  • Add turmeric powder 1 tsp, red chili powder 1 tsp, coriander powder 1/2 tbsp, garam masala powder 1/2 tsp, biryani masala 1/2 tbsp – cook all the spices for 3-4 minutes on medium-high heat.
  • Add salt 1 tsp, whisked curd 3/4 cup (lower the heat while adding the curd) –  cook the masala for 2-3 minutes on medium to high heat.
  • Add fried eggs, chopped parsley 4 tbsp, whole green chilies 4 pc into the masala, and cook for 6-7 minutes on medium to high heat.
  • Preparing Biryani Layers
  • Once the egg masala/gravy is ready to separate half into a bowl.
  • Add half of the already prepared boiled rice on top of the half kept egg masala gravy – add fried onions 2 tbsp, chopped parsley 2 tbsp on it.
  • Add the remaining egg masala on top of the layer of rice – and again add the final layer of boiled rice – on top of the final rice layer add fried onions 2 tbsp, chopped parsley 2 tbsp, lemon juice 1 tbsp, food color 1 tsp – then cover and cook for 10-12 minutes on low flame.
  • The biryani is ready to serve.

Notes

  • You could always adjust the spice level according to your taste and flavor.
  • If you’d prefer you could skip frying eggs, and use boiled eggs directly.
