What is chicken majestic ?

Chicken majestic is a cuisine popularly served in Hyderabad and Andhra region. It has fried chicken pieces in dried up gravy. The gravy acts more like a masala that enhances the flavour of the chicken.

Chicken majestic is one of the most underrated dishes we have come across, this is mainly due to its popularity only being based on certain regions like Hyderabad. How to make chicken majestic ?

A delicious chicken starter recipe – the Chicken Majestic can be had as a starter or a snack – the chicken majestic is like a fast food chicken tender or chicken strips from Popeyes or KFC food chains – but much tastier and more healthy – being cooked at home !


  • Marinating the Chicken
  • 500 gms Chicken boneless

  • 1/2 tsp Salt

  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder

  • 1/2 tsp Red chili powder

  • 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste

  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice

  • 4 tbsp Corn flour

  • 2 tbsp All purpose flour

  • 2 tbsp Curd

  • 1 pc Egg

  • Preparing Chicken Majestic
  • 3 tbsp Cooking oil

  • 4 pcs Green chili slits

  • 4 pcs Garlic chopped

  • 2 pcs Dry red chili strips

  • 10 pcs Curry leaves

  • 1/2 cup Curd

  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder

  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder

  • 1 tsp Coriander powder

  • 1/2 tsp Salt

  • 2 tbsp Coriander leaves

  • 2 tbsp Green onion

  • 1 tsp Soya sauce


  • Marinating the Chicken
  • Into a bowl, take chicken strips boneless 500 gms, salt 1/2 tsp, turmeric powder 1/4 tsp, red chili powder 1/2 tsp, ginger garlic paste 1 tsp, lemon juice 1 tbsp, curd 2 tbsp, egg 1 pc, all purpose flour 2 tbsp, corn flour 4 tbsp – stir, mix well and let it marinate for about an hour.
  • Frying the Chicken
  • Into a heating wok, take cooking oil to deep fry the chicken pieces and pre heat the oil before adding the chicken.
  • Start adding the marinated chicken pieces into the heating oil and fry them for 7-8 minutes on medium to high heat till it becomes light brown and crispy.
  • Take out the fried chicken pieces into a plate and keep aside.
  • Preparing Chicken Majestic
  • Into a heating frying pan, add cooking oil 3 tbsp, green chili slits 4 pcs, chopped garlic 4 pcs, dry red chili slits 2 pcs, dry curry leaves 10 pcs and sauté it for 2 minutes on medium heat.
  • Add curd 1/2 cup and give it a quick stir.
  • Add turmeric powder 1/2 tsp, Kashmiri red chili powder 1 tsp, cumin powder 1/2 tsp, coriander powder 1 tsp, salt 1/2 tsp and let it cook for about 2-3 minutes on medium heat.
  • Add chopped coriander leaves 2 tbsp, green onion 2 tbsp, soya sauce 1 tsp and stir well till the gravy become a little dry.
  • Add fried chicken strips into it and stir well on high heat.
  • Delicious Chicken Majestic is ready to serve.
