How healthy are chicken drumsticks?

Chicken wings, chicken legs, and chicken drumsticks have generally high measures of protein. Chicken additionally contains a few times the polyunsaturated or solid fat, when contrasted with red meats – this is the thing that makes chicken a healthier option in contrast to red meats.

Can you overcook chicken legs?

If the cooking technique is such that results in crispy, edible skin, then leave it on. If the cooking technique is going to take a longish time, especially in a stew type thing, leave it on.

Do the chickens need to be washed and cleaned if they’re taken out of the package?

Not necessarily to do it if they come as packaged drumsticks. But a fresh whole chicken would have to be cleaned and cut accordingly.

  • Marinating the chicken
  • 4 tbsp Curd

  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp Red chili powder

  • 1 tsp Coriander powder

  • 1 tsp Cumin powder

  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 1 tsp Onion powder

  • 1 tbsp Cooking oil

  • 500 gm Chicken

  • 1 tsp Ginger garlic

  • 1 tsp Lemon juice

  • Frying the Chicken
  • 3 tbsp Cooking oil


  • Preparing the curd mix
  • In a bowl take curd 4 tbsp, turmeric powder 1/4 tsp, red chili powder 1 tsp, cumin powder 1 tsp, coriander powder 1 tsp, garam masala powder 1/2 tsp, onion powder 1 tbsp, salt 1 tsp, cooking oil 1 tbsp – mix everything properly.
  • Keep the curd mixture aside for later use.
  • Marinating the chicken
  • Into a large bowl take chicken drumsticks 500 gm and add the curd mixture into it.
  • Add lemon juice 1 tsp, ginger garlic 1 tsp, and mix everything properly.
  • Let the chicken marinate for 30 minutes.
  • Frying the chicken
  • Into a heating frying pan take cooking oil 3 tbsp and place the marinated chicken into it.
  • Fry each side of the chicken for 2 minutes on medium heat.
  • Reduce the low heat – fry it for 15 minutes – keep flipping the sides till the chicken is well fried.
  • After, switch off the flame – take out the fried chicken – serve it hot.

  • Put slits on your chicken drumsticks for the marination to go deep inside it.
  • You can also refrigerate the chicken marination overnight and use it.
