Is it better to make tortillas ourselves or just buy them?

If you’re up for some extra work you could definitely try making the tortillas. We used pre-made tortillas in our recipe to make it simpler.

Are we using the traditional butter chicken curry recipe to make these tortillas?

Yes for the most part. The gravy however is dried up further on the stove so that it does not drip off the tortilla rolls.

What are the different types of tortillas available?

There are numerous types of tortillas, just pick your favorite flour and start cooking with it. Besides flour tortillas, you also have different varieties like corn, spinach, beetroot, etc. You can definitely try those out as well.

A delicious and creamy roll easy to prepare and also a complete meal. Enjoy these butter chicken tortilla rolls in your lunch boxes, picnics, office lunch breaks, and your kids will going to love them.

Ingredients

  • Marinating the chicken
  • 500 gm Chicken

  • 1/4 cup Curd

  • 1/2 tsp Salt

  • 1/2 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder

  • 1 tsp Coriander powder

  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice

  • Frying the chicken
  • 1/2 tbsp Cooking oil

  • 1 tbsp Butter

  • Preparing the butter chicken
  • 2 tsp Cooking oil

  • 2 tbsp Butter

  • 2 pc Green chili chopped

  • 1 pc Onion chopped

  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste

  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder

  • 1 tsp Cumin powder

  • 1/2 tsp Salt

  • 3/4 cup Tomato paste

  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder

  • 1/4 cup Cooking cream

  • 1 tbsp Butter

  • Preparing Tortilla rolls
  • 5 pc tortilla

  • 1 pc Onion rings

  • 3 tbsp Coriander freshly chopped

  • 2 pc Green chili chopped

  • 2 tbsp Green onion

Directions

  • Marinating the chicken
  • Into a bowl, take boneless chicken 500 gm, curd 1/4 cup, salt 1/2 tsp, Kashmiri red chili powder 1/2 tsp, coriander powder 1 tsp, lemon juice 1 tbsp – mix everything well and keep it for 1-hour marination.
  • Frying the chicken
  • Into a heating wok, add cooking oil 1/2 tbsp, butter 1 tbsp and add marinated chicken into it – let it fry for about 10-12 minutes on medium to high heat.
  • Take out the fried chicken pieces into a plate and keep them aside.
  • Preparing the butter chicken
  • Into the same heating pot, add cooking oil 2 tsp, butter 2 tbsp, chopped green chilies 2 pcs, chopped onion 1 pc – let it fry for about 1-2 minutes on high heat.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste 1 tbsp – fry till the onions become light brown on high heat.
  • Add turmeric powder 1/2 tsp, Kashmiri red chili powder 1 tsp, cumin powder 1 tsp, salt 1/2 tsp – fry everything for about 1-2 minutes on low heat.
  • Add tomato paste 3/4 cup and cook it for about 4-5 minutes on medium heat.
  • Add garam masala powder 1/2 tsp, cooking cream 1/4 cup, butter 1 tbsp – mix it well and let it cook for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Add fried chicken into it and keep stirring for about 2 minutes.
  • The Butter chicken is ready – keep it aside.
  • Preparing Tortilla rolls
  • Heat the tortilla into a heating pan and apply butter on top.
  • Cook each side of the tortilla for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Put the butter chicken, onion rings, coriander, spring onions, and green chili on top of the tortilla and roll it up.
  • Use a paper towel to wrap it up and hold it up easily.

  • You can also prepare homemade tortillas and use them for this recipe.
  • Reduce the amount of red chili powder if you are making it for your kids or any diet requirement.
