No difference in cooking method both the 65s besides the potato being boiled before being coated with masala.

An amazing starter recipe for all your functions and occasions to start

Ingredients

  • Boiling the Potatoes
  • 6 cups Water

  • 2 tsp Salt

  • 350 gms Potatoes

  • Frying the Potatoes
  • 1 tbsp Rice flour

  • 1 tbsp Corn flour

  • 1/2 tsp Salt

  • 1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder

  • Preparing Aloo 65
  • 2 tbsp Cooking oil

  • 4 pc Green chili

  • 5 pc Garlic

  • 10 pc Dry Curry leaves

  • 2 pc Dry red chili

  • 1 tbsp Tomato ketchup

  • 1 tbsp Soya sauce

  • 1/2 tbsp Kashmiri red chili powder

  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice

  • 3 tbsp Spring onion

Directions

  • Boiling the Potatoes
  • Into a heating pot, add water 6 cups, salt 2 tsp, diced potatoes 350 gms – let it boil for about 6 – 7 minutes on high heat – take out into a plate and keep aside.
  • Frying the Potatoes
  • Into a large bowl, take the boiled potatoes, add rice flour 1 tbsp, corn flour 1 tbsp, salt 1/2 tsp, Kashmiri red chili powder 1 tsp – mix/toss the mixture till the potatoes are well coated.
  • Into a heating frying pan, add cooking oil (for deep frying) – preheat the oil before adding the coated potatoes – let the potatoes fry for about 7 – 8 minutes on high heat until its light golden and crispy – take out into on a paper towel.
  • Preparing Aloo 65
  • Into a heating frying pan, add cooking oil 2 tbsp, green chili slits 4 pcs, chopped garlic 5 pcs, dry curry leaves 10 pcs, dry red chili slits 2 pcs – give it a quick stir.
  • After, add tomato ketchup 1 tbsp, soya sauce 1 tbsp, lemon juice 1 tbsp, Kashmiri red chili powder 1/2 tbsp, spring onions 3 tbsp – give it another quick stir.
  • Add fried potatoes into the pan and mix & toss it properly for about 1 – 2 minutes on high heat.
  • The delicious starter dish – Potato 65 or Aloo 65 is ready !

Notes

  • After dicing the potatoes, keep it dipped in water for just a while to remove enough starch level – that helps control the colour change of potato when its open. This also helps potato become crunchy and in shape when cooked.
  • Do not over boil the potatoes otherwise they will lose their shape and get mashed easily.
  • Reduce the amount of spice level if you are making it for your kids or having diet requirements.
